Trials, the motocross racing/physics puzzle series from RedLynx and Ubisoft, is returning next year with Trials Rising, Ubisoft announced at its E3 keynote this afternoon in Los Angeles. Trials Rising will be the first entry in the series since 2014’s Trials Fusion.

Ubisoft’s announcement promised “more tracks than ever before” in the series, which began as a browser-based Flash game 18 years ago and came to consoles in 2009.

Trials Rising will involve a cooperative local multiplayer mode called “Tandem Bike,” where both players combine to navigate a single dirtbike through the game’s notoriously weird and difficult motocross courses. Trials Rising will also feature a career mode spanning “local backyard competitions” to stadium performances, including licensed racing brands such as Fox Racing Gear and Red Lynx.

Ubisoft’s announcement referenced tracks set in Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park and around the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Players will be able to will share their outfits and motorcycle skins. “In addition to the outfit and bike customization editor, the legendary Trials Track Editor comes back bigger than ever,” Ubisoft said.

Trials Rising will launch in February 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The series launched on consoles in 2009 with Trials HD, was followed in 2011 by Trials Evolution, and then in 2014 with Trials Fusion.
